01 / OVERVIEW

Project Overview

Rituae is a Tokyo-based skincare company built around refillable concentrates that adapt to climate, season, and routine. Ari created a brand system that makes personalization feel simple, tactile, and inviting, from the packaging architecture to the digital storefront.

Design Brief

Rituae was preparing to launch a refillable system pairing three base moisturizers with six concentrated boosters. Ari was asked to create the identity, packaging architecture, and e-commerce experience while making the customization model immediately understandable. The brand needed to feel premium without becoming precious, scientifically credible without appearing clinical, and flexible enough to support seasonal releases.

Key insight 01: Customers understood the system faster when products were organized around changing skin conditions rather than unfamiliar ingredients.

Key insight 02: Refilling felt more compelling when presented as a simple recurring ritual, not as an obligation or sustainability claim.

02 / PROCESS

Design Process

Ari built the identity around the idea of “care in motion.” A restrained wordmark and neutral foundation create consistency, while seasonal colors and fluid forms distinguish formulas and changing conditions.

The packaging system pairs stable base vessels with smaller color-coded concentrates. Soft gradients, clear numbering, and repeated proportions make combinations easy to understand while preserving a quiet, premium shelf presence.

The digital experience follows the same logic through a guided product finder, subscription flows, product pages, and refill reminders. Customers move through three decisions: choose a base, add a concentrate, and establish a rhythm, creating one continuous system across pack and screen.

03 / RESULTS

Outcomes

During the first three months, the guided routine became the primary entry point for new customers. The simplified naming system reduced product-choice questions, while the modular identity gave Rituae a consistent framework for future formulas and seasonal campaigns.

Reflection

Rituae demonstrated that a flexible system does not need to look technical. By giving every expression a stable foundation and one changing visual signal, the identity could evolve without losing recognition. The strongest result came from designing the packaging logic and digital journey together, so customers encountered one continuous ritual.
